Alcatel-Lucent announced on December 10 that it has secured a mobile network supply deal from Taiwanese telecom operator Chunghwa Telecom, according to a report by Dow Jones. Pursuant to the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will be delivering a comprehensive end-to-end solution and all necessary services to deploy Taiwan's first femtocell network, in a bid to enhance the coverage and capacity of the operator's existing mobile network, especially indoors, and to reduce operational costs as well. Further details regarding the value of the deal were not yet disclosed though.
